I have been teaching K-12 Music at Wrangell Public Schools since 2008. I teach grades K-5 here at Evergreen Elementary School. I am looking forward to teaching your child all about the fascinating world of music!!

Each class has its own content that they will be studying. Kindergarten starts off with learning all about a steady beat, and looking at things around them that have a steady beat (a clock, a bouncing ball) and working our way through Fifth Grade where they put all of their musical learning together to be a part of a Beginning Band!

We also have the opportunity for your child to be a part of a beginning choir. Our 3rd through 5th-grade choir meets one time a week for 30 minutes and is optional for students to sign up for. I do require the students to be caught up in their regular classroom and to be on their best behavior to be able to attend our choir rehearsals. I also require they attend a certain number of rehearsals in order to participate in the choir at our concerts (2 concerts per year. One in Winter and one in Spring)

We are a Quaver Music school, and any distance delivery methods will be through the Quaver Music website.

Your child will use their unique username and password to log-in to the website. I will make sure that information gets sent home very soon!

From there, they can click on the Assignments tab and be taken to any lessons that they need to complete. They also have the option to customize their avatar, play some musical games, create their own music, and read books about different musical styles! I hope to help your child enjoy learning all about music!
